1. Choose a domain name
A domain name must be unique. To check whether a given name is still available use the WHOIS search function. Acceptable domain names must meet following requirements:
You can find more details in the general terms and conditions.
2. Choose a registrar
Registration is only possible via registrar, not directly with Arnes. You will find a list of registrars on our website.
3. Read General terms and conditions for domain name registration under .si (GT&C)!
When registering a .si domain name you lend your explicit agreement to GT&C.
The registrar you have chosen will present you with GT&C at the time of registration, either for formal signature, or for explicit acceptance during (online) registration. You can always view GTC here.
4. Provide the registrar with required data :
A valid contact e-mail address is of the utmost importance, because it is our only direct means of communication with you: it will be used as a means of contact, for example, if you wish to change the registrar. Arnes may withdraw a domain name if it has no active e-mail address.
Remark: it is important to know in advance who is the domain name holder: individual or organisation.
5. Complete the form
The registrar will fill in an electronic form (or you can fill it in yourself if you register online). Be sure to check that the details are correct!! It is important that the data you give are actually your own, and not those of the registrar or an intermediary (e.g. web designer). It will prove difficult to update the information if you discover an error later. The domain name holder can only be modified by transaction Transfer Registrant (described in GT&C, 11.4). This transaction requires explicit consent of current and future holder and is not free of charge.
6. Register the domain name
Your registrar will send (through automated registration system) the form to us. The domain name will be automatically registered for a chosen period, you will become a holder of a chosen domain name under .si. Once the domain name has been registered, the corresponding fee will be automatically debited from the registrar's account. It is not possible to correct a misspelled domain name; the registrar will have no other option but to register the correct name and pay a registration fee.
