New General Terms and Conditions for Domain Name Registration under .si come into force on October 20, 2010, at 10 a.m.. Major pinouts are:
- IDN domain with non-ASCII characters
- two letters domain are allowed
- register .si domains has been widened to all natural and legal persons, with no requirements for local presence;
- no limitation on maximum number of domain names per holder;
- registration period can be chosen from 1 up to 5 years;
- numeric domains are allowed.
Rightful claimants can register any domain name that fulfils the following requirements:
- minimum of 2 characters among the letters “A-Z” and non-ASCII characters (Unicode table can be foundhere with no difference between capital and lower case letters, numbers from “0-9″ and the hyphen “-”
- first or last character can not be a hyphen
- hyphen can not be positioned on the 3rd and 4th position simultaneously
- domain name can include from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 63 characters
